The Bosch LC1 Modular Ceiling range of loudspeakers is adaptable to a wide variety of environments. They offer excellent sound and music quality in indoor public address applications. This set includes five distinct loudspeakers, differentiated by input power, coverage angle and sound quality. The range comprises three 6W single cone loudspeakers, offering variable coverage options, and two high-performance 12W and 24W coaxial loudspeakers. All of these share the same grille size and are compatible with the same mounting accessories. The loudspeakers are ideal for air handling spaces when installed with LC1-MFD enclosures. The loudspeaker frames include facilities for the optional mounting of pilot tone indication plates or WLS plates, and a standard light guide indicates the pilot tone status.
Voice Alarm Applications
These voice alarm loudspeakers are specially designed for use in buildings where the performance of the verbal evacuation announcement system is subject to strict regulations. The LC1 modular ceiling loudspeaker range is designed for integration into voice alarm systems, being certified to EN 54-24 and compliant with British Standards BS 5839-8.
Protection
The loudspeakers are equipped with built-in protection to prevent fire damage from affecting the connected circuit. This maintains the integrity of the system, allowing loudspeakers in other areas to remain functional to inform people of the situation. In addition, they can be used in conjunction with a metal fire dome to provide additional protection for the cable terminations.

The speakers have a connection block with ceramic screws, thermal fuse and high temperature resistant cables.

All Bosch speakers are designed to operate at their rated power for 100 hours, meeting the IEC 268-5 Power Handling Capacity (PHC) standards. Bosch has also developed the Simulated Acoustic Feedback Examination (SAFE) test to demonstrate that they can withstand twice their rated power for short periods. This ensures increased reliability under extreme conditions, contributing to greater customer satisfaction, a longer lifespan and a lower chance of failure. All plastic components are self-extinguishing according to the UL 94 V0 standard.
Installation and configuration
The LC1 modular ceiling loudspeaker range is characterised by its ease of installation. Each loudspeaker consists of a frame with the loudspeaker driver, surrounded by a metal or ABS grille incorporating a light guide. They also include the matching transformer and the connection block with ceramic screws. Devices are available on each loudspeaker for the optional mounting of the pilot tone indication board and the optional line/loudspeaker supervision board. By adjusting the power on the 70V/100V matching transformer, the power range can be selected between full, half, quarter or optimum power.
